the One that Got Away (a fish story)

Ichthyology,
Must say sounds a bit fishy.

Way Back Then

A short story in Haiku style
My first memory.
Jan C. Smuts Home for Children
In Burnham-on-Sea.

Breakfast with some kids.
Walking to the beach lighthouse.
Breathing damp sea air.

Big people took me
to live with as family.
I had siblings now.

We had dogs and cats
And we had a garden too.
I was happy there.

Then I had an urge
The wide world called me to leave
Look where it brought me.

I found new friendships
Bloggers using words galore.
Thank you one and all.

Alfred’s Story-Haiku in 3 Verses

An apology. I think you have to be from Bristol to understand this posting well. If you are not from Bristol I hope you enjoy the words anyway.

Is Alfred still there?

Inside a glass display case

at the museum.

Who is Alfred then?

A Silverback Gorilla

Died at Bristol Zoo.

Of fright in his cage.

It happened in World War II,

During an air-raid.
