A Place for the Odd Musings of an Expat Bristolian

Lemme see. What shall I get up to today?

This morning, before I can get up to anything (worthwhile that is) I have to keep an appointment with my counselor at the Work Force Center.

Well, my meeting went well and I now have a plan in place to help get me back to work.

so I waited for my Metro Mobility bus (I don’t see well enough to drive my car) which incidentally showed up on time. I came home and was greeted by Mr. McCafferty. Mr. McCafferty I got Mr. McCafferty from an animal shelter soon after my discharge from hospital. I think he was raised with a dog because he acts just like a dog. Always he comes to greet me whenever I arrive at home.
So today I cut the grass and trimmed all the edges, that is until my twine ran out. OH well, there’s always tomorrow.

Job Interview today

I have a job interview today.  Waiting  for my Metro Mobility bus to pick me up. Tell you how it goes later.

So now it is later: My bus came at 09:30 to take me to Eagan. I guess a short explanation why I take metro Mobility bus would be in order.

In mid September 2012 I was trimming trees in my backyard. I fell and hit my head on the ground. I got up and went about my work. About 3 weeks later, due to the injury which I left untreated, I had a stroke which put me in United Hospital, St. Paul for 2 weeks. This was followed by 4 weeks of Physical therapy, Occupational therapy and Speech therapy. My neurologist cleared me to return to my place of work on December 6th, 2013.
The brain injury I sustained damaged the Occipital nerve which meant that my vision was severely impaired. As a result, I was no longer able to drive.

The Regional Vice President of Sales, the Regional Director of Operations and my General Manager took this opportunity to replace me. That’s why I am looking for work and why I take bus to attend my interviews.

Anyway, the interview went well. Did not get the job. The search continues.
